Since Christmas is in a few days, and I just posted a pancake recipe, I’m adding my father’s favorite holiday breakfast recipe: Dad’s Christmas Sausage Ring. A combination of sausage, apples, and onions, it’s the perfect addition to Pecan Pancakes.

Dad’s Sausage Ring

This recipe can be made in a bundt pan as a sausage ring, or you can make it into sausage patties.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds bulk pork sausage
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Pepperidge Farm Dry Stuffing original recipe
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 1 cup finely chopped Granny Smith apples peeled and cored

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together. Form into a bundt pan or make patties and place them on a baking tray. Refrigerate the sausage for 1 hour.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350℉. Bake the sausage ring for 1 hour. Bake the patties for about 45 minutes, but depending on how large your patties are, you'll need to watch the patties to make sure they don't dry out.

  1. Which of the Recipes, pecan pancakes or Christmas sausage rings, and my personal favorite among others, wreaks kitchen havoc?

The Christmas sausage ring is the messiest to make and there’s a lot of grease when it comes out of the oven. So that’s the one I’d say causes the most kitchen havoc. 🙂
