It’s that time of year again and we’re headed to the mountains to hang out with my son at his college’s football game. While my son and his buddies are great cooks, they’re not the greatest planners. So I took care of the menu and have decided on Pork Sliders. The game is later in the day so we’re going to eat first at my son’s apartment and then walk over to the stadium. This is a super easy meal that is easy to double and feeds lots of hungry young men and women. And I plan on serving the sliders with my Classic Cole Slaw. Now I just hope we win! And if you want to use homemade pulled pork (instead of store bought), here’s the recipe I use: Pink Salt Pulled Pork

Pork Sliders

Course Main Course
Keyword Pork
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Servings 12 sliders

Ingredients

  • 12 slider buns
  • 3 cups pulled pork (I noted a recipe above or use store bought)
  • 2 cups coleslaw (recipe noted above) optional
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt or garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375℉ and line a rimmed baking sheet with tin foil.

  2. Slice the buns in half and remove the top bun and set it aside. Place the bottom bun on the baking sheet and layer pulled pork on the bun. Top with a dollop of BBQ sauce and replace the top bun.

  3. In a small microwaveable bowl, melt together the butter, Worcestershire sauce, onion salt and poppy seeds. Mircowave for 30-60 seconds, until melted. Stir the butter mixture and pour it over the top of the buns. Make sure there are poppy seeds on the top of each bun. Cover the buns and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes. Remove from the oven.

  4. If using the slaw, once the sliders have cooled for 5 minutes, remove the top bun and add some slaw. Replace the tops and serve!
