Did you know that today is National No Housework Day? I had no idea until recently that this was an actual event, but apparently it is with lots of blog posts and online events to celebrate.
Since today is a day to rest, yet we’re beginning the Spring Cleaning season, I’m just going to list some resources you may find helpful if you’re going to do any Spring Cleaning this year. Many readers have asked me why, if this is a “prepping” series, I spend so much time on cleaning, etc. The answer is simple. If you don’t have your “house in order”, both literally and figuratively, prepping is much harder. You can’t plan for the future if you have no idea what you have, what you need, and no place to store things.
So here are a few resources to help you get your house in order so we can get back to long-term planning!
Below are some of my favorite FREE websites and YouTube channels that offer advice on Spring Cleaning as well as how to develop a year-long cleaning habit. I do want to say that there are a lot of these ” house cleaning programs” out there that want you to spend money for a schedule or system or a community that will transform your ability to keep you house clean. Please don’t do that… there is no reason to spend any money to learn how to clean your house. And if you don’t like to clean, no “system” or “new habit” will change that.
There is so much free information out there, including on my own website and all the places I’ve listed below. Please don’t spend money unnecessarily.
I hope you all have a great week and enjoy your cleaning day off!
