French Quarter Dip

This easy recipe was given to me by one of my best friends, Karen Johnston, who unfortunately died of brain cancer years ago. I love to make this recipe around the holidays because it's both delicious and it reminds me of all the wonderful times we had together.

Ingredients

French Quarter Cheese

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/2 garlic clove minced
  • 1 Tablespoon dried minced onion reconstituted

Topping

  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 box favorite crackers for serving

Instructions

French Quarter Cheese

  1. In a small bowl, combine all of the cheese ingredients. Press into the bottom of a 9" pie plate and set aside

Topping

  1. In a small saucepan, combine all the topping ingredients and cook over a low heat until the sugar is melted. Pour the filling over the cream cheese. Serve at room temperature with your favorite crackers.

    Note: The serving size (for calorie count) is for about three spreads of cheese but does not include the calories in the crackers.
