Pink Salt Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 5-6 pound boneless pork butt roast (also called Boston butt)
  • 2 Tablespoons Pink sea salt (Hawaiian Salt)
  • 2 Tablespoons liquid smoke
  • Hawaiian Rolls for making sandwiches

Instructions

  1. Place the pork in the crock pot and sprinkle the salt and liquid smoke over the top of the meat. Cover and cook for 8 hours on low setting, turning meat over half way through the cooking time.

  2. Remove the meat from the pot and sheet it in a large bowl. Transfer the cooking liquid to a saucepan and boil the liquid until reduced by about half. This could take 10-20 minutes, depending on how much liquid is left.

  3. Stir the liquid into the bowl with the meat and serve. I like to serve this on small Hawaiian rolls, but it could also be served on top of a salad or by itself.
