It’s that time of year again! Time for my End of the Year Ritual that gives me permission to set aside time to so I can reflect on the past, offer gratitude for the present, and dream about the future. And I don’t know of any better way to both end one year and begin a new one.
Every year I choose books to read during the season of Advent. Usually they’re meditations or reflections based on the season. But this year, due to my deadlines and crazy schedule, I’m only reading and studying one book: The Reed of God by Caryll Houselander.
NaNoWriMo 2022 has ended and it’ time for a final check-in. But regardless if you won or not, all that matters in the long run is how you feel about your stories and your writing path forward. All that matters is that, as a writer, you know you’re not alone!

I just want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving! I hope this day, and the rest of your year, is filled with love, laughter, and more blessings than you can count. To help you celebrate, I’ve added one of my favorite Thanksgiving poems to this post.
Since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I thought I’d share one of my favorite practices for this time of year. There’s a journaling practice that’s been proven to reduce stress and improve happiness. It’s known as Gratitude Journaling.
It’s the Friday night before Halloween, that means it’s time for my annual Hocus Pocus movie (the original!) watch party!
As we get closer to October 31st, more and more stories are popping up about the history of this holiday. As an avid Irish folklore researcher, I’ve learned a lot about the stories of pagan Ireland.
After a long hard talk with myself, I’ve decided to take a short summer break from blogging. So I am off to the beach!
Traveling to Europe this summer? This post is loaded with some of my favorite travel blogs, podcasts, and advisory sites to keep you safe and help you have the time of your life.
Sometimes it take a teenager to explain the complexities of what makes a novel work and how to fix a sagging middle.
