It’s only the beginning of June, yet I feel like I’ve been traveling since January–which is kind of true. The good part is that I’ve had some nice, long stretches to write. The bad part is that I’ve had very little time to promote. And since I had TWO releases last week, while I was out of town at a huge reader event, I wasn’t able to support these projects as well as I liked. But since I’m now home for a few weeks, I’m going to slip a few promo blog posts into my daily rota.
The first project I’m so excited about is Summer Heatwave, a charity anthology where all the proceeds support the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), a nonprofit dedicated to protecting free expression. This anthology includes my story Their Forever Summer, a new novella in my Kingsmill Courtships series. Their Forever Summer is about Gage and Lily Mosby, the couple from The Summer Promise (which is the first book in the series). While they are still deeply in love, real life problems threaten their relationship and after a lifetime of running away, they both have to decide what it means to stay.

Summer Heatwave
A beach read charity anthology to benefit free speech
Eight authors. Eight unforgettable stories. One collection that refuses to stay quiet.
Summer Heatwave delivers a powerful mix of romance that is bold, emotional, messy, and real. From unexpected connections to relationships pushed to the edge, these stories explore what happens when people stop playing it safe and start telling the truth.
No two stories are the same. Every one of them will leave a mark.
This special anthology supports the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), a nonprofit dedicated to protecting free expression. Because great stories don’t come from silence—and neither does love.
Authors included: Grace Maxwell, Darah Lace, Sharon Wray, Lenore Ashwood, Jennilynn Wyer, Mia Augustine, Debbie Charles, & Janna Roznos
Their Forever Summer
Some summers change everything… then bring you home.
After years apart, Lily and Gage found their way back to one another. But love was never the hardest part. Now, in the heat of summer, they’re learning what it means to stay.
Between restoring a once-forgotten inn, rebuilding a home filled with complicated memories, and caring for a young girl who’s already lost too much, Lily and Gage are faced with a different kind of challenge: creating something lasting out of lives that were once shaped by leaving.
Building a future isn’t as simple as deciding to love someone. It takes trust, patience, and the courage to believe that this time, nothing—and no one—will be left behind.
But when a child who needs more than promises disappears, Lily must confront the question she’s been avoiding: What does it really mean to stay?
