This week, with the Midsummer Writers series, we’re talking about the excitement and dread of drafting a novel in July (or through the rest of the summer).
The day after Thanksgiving is always one of my favorite days of the year. It’s a day where we all rest, eat leftover pie, and do something fun like go on a hike or head to our favorite thrift shop in the mountains. Then we regroup for a family-style dinner. And this year I’m serving Turkey Dumpling Soup.

Today is Michaelmas and it’s also the last day to pick blackberries. I’m celebrating by making homemade blackberry hand pies.
