Just in time for Cinco de Mayo! I love tacos, but I don’t like the boxed powdered mix. So, after a few years of trying, I came up with my own. It’s super easy to make and if you double or triple the recipe, you can store the seasoning for up to six months in a tightly-sealed mason jar. And, as you can guess, these go well with margaritas. 🙂

Homemade Tacos & Seasoning Mix

- 1 teaspoon Kosher salt

In a small bowl, stir together all of the spices. Store in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid.

To make tacos, brown 1 1/2 pounds ground beef in a frying pan. Drain any excess fat. In the frying pan, stir in 3/4 cup water and 1 – 2 Tablespoons of seasoning mix, depending on your taste. Cook over medium heat until the water is absorbed. Serve immediately.
