It’s almost Valentine’s Day! While I don’t drink much alcohol, I do like to make special drinks when friends come over. And this year, since I’m having a few people over to celebrate Valentine’s Day, I’m making this Chocolate Cocktail with added espresso and chocolate syrup for garnish. It’s easy to make, especially if you make the espresso about an hour before guests arrive, and I hope you enjoy it!

Chocolate Cocktail
This recipe is for one drink, but can easily be made in a pitcher for multiple drinks. Straining the cocktail into the glass gives it a light frothy top and I like to garnish it with an extra dollop of chocolate syrup.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce Kahlúa
- 1 ounce fresh espresso room temperature
- 1/2 ounce chocolate syrup
- extra chocolate syrup for garnishing the martini glass
Instructions
-
Drip the garnish chocolate syrup around the inside of a martini glass and then place it in the freezer for a few minutes while you prepare the cocktail.
-
Using a cocktail shaker, mix together the vodka, Kahlúa, espresso, and chocolate syrup. Add ice almost all the way to the brim, but leaving enough room to shake. Shake for 15 seconds. Then strain the cocktail into the cold martini glass. Add a dollop of extra chocolate syrup on top, if preferred.
